Development of a Desktop EEG Review and Clinical Annotation Tool
This project presents the early development of a desktop EEG review application designed for readable waveform visualization, structured annotation, and flexible montage handling for clinical and research review. The system supports FIF recordings and includes tools for both segment-level and channel-level annotation. Development focused on comparing existing EEG review tools, evaluating reuse-versus-redesign tradeoffs, and extending an existing desktop viewer into a more usable review environment. Completed work includes improved display correctness, modernized channel alias handling, built-in and custom montage support, an ACNS-aligned annotation model, installation workflows for distribution, and integration of a conversational AI agent capable of calling parametric and non-parametric tools to surface relevant insights. Ongoing development is focused on improving the overall review workflow. This poster summarizes the project motivation, design decisions, current implementation status, and next steps toward a usable EEG review workflow.
