Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) provides funding to U of M undergraduates who work on a research project with a faculty mentor.
Undergraduate Research Scholarships (URS)
Undergraduate Research Scholarships (URS) are awarded by the Office of Admissions to prospective freshman. URS provide awardees with funding for a research project while being mentored by a faculty member.
The International Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) Scholarship promotes learning abroad opportunities to undergraduate students by providing funding to students enrolled in select credit-bearing learning abroad programs involving a research project.
Directed Study/Directed Research allows students to design and carry out an independent project, working one-on-one with a faculty member for academic credit. Most, if not all, departments provide Directed Study/Research course designations. The Directed Study/Research project requires a contract between you, the faculty member, and the faculty member's department. See policies and practice here.
