Research Interests/Areas/Accomplishments:

My research interests are rooted in international relations and the study of human rights, with particular attention to how political institutions, public policy, and governance shape the protection and advancement of human rights across diverse national and international contexts. My academic background combines a foundation in international relations with a Master of Arts in Public Policy focused on human rights, allowing me to approach these questions from both theoretical and applied perspectives. I am especially interested in the intersection of human rights, public policy, global governance, and social equity, including how policy can be used to address systemic inequities and improve outcomes for marginalized and underserved communities. This interdisciplinary perspective informs my interest in translating research and human rights principles into practical policies, programs, and institutional strategies that promote equity, accountability, and meaningful social impact.

My Advice for How to Get Involved in Research:

Approach research with curiosity, patience, and a willingness to explore questions that genuinely interest you. Start by identifying a topic that connects to your academic or professional goals, then seek out faculty mentors who can help you refine your ideas and understand the research process. Don’t be discouraged if you do not have prior research experience—asking thoughtful questions, being open to feedback, and demonstrating reliability are often just as important. Most importantly, view research as an opportunity to learn, build relationships, and contribute your own perspective to the creation of new knowledge.
