Investigating COVID-19 Risk Behaviors of University of Minnesota Students, Staff, and Faculty

In December 2019, a novel coronavirus referred to as coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) initially emerged in Wuhan, China. COVID-19 may cause damage to the heart, lungs, and brain, and many long-term health effects are currently unknown. In order for the university to create informed policies about COVID-19, understanding the behaviors of the university community is of paramount importance. We found that undergraduate students self-reported to be significantly more willing to engage in various risk behaviors compared to faculty, staff, and graduate students. In efforts to reduce the spread of COVID-19, these findings will allow the University of Minnesota to create better informed policies.
