Dressing for Success: Different Clothing Styles Effect on Perceived Productivity

In today's society, people place great importance on their appearance and attire. The phrase "dressing for success" has become a popular term, referring to the idea that the clothes a person wears can have a significant impact on their success in various areas of life, including the workplace. Previous research has highlighted the positive impact of dressing appropriately in professional settings, including increased confidence, improved self-image, and better job performance. Given this information, we hypothesized that dressing formally would yield the highest perception of productivity. Our study aims to examine how different attire affects inidivduals perception of productivity. For this study, participants were recruited using a simple random sampling approach. Participants were given a survey with three pictures of a model in different attire. The model wore Pajamas/Comfy clothes for one picture, Casual clothes for another picture, and Formal clothes for the third picture. The participants were asked questions designed to measure their perceived productivity of the model in the three different outfits. Our independent variable is style of clothing worn (attire) and our dependent variable is perceptions of productivity.
