My Advice for How to Get Involved in Research:
Don’t be afraid to ask questions! You aren’t expected to be an expert on any topic before you start researching, so don’t hesitate to speak up when you don’t understand something. Asking questions about the research a faculty member does is a great way to connect with them. My principal investigator was an instructor for one of my classes, and getting to know more about them and their research through the semester helped me get into researching within their group.
